| On Sunday, July 13, 2008, at 3:00 pm, First English Lutheran Church celebrated the 120th Anniversary of our founding. In a special service commemorating the occasion, guest pastor Rev. Charles J. Resuming its place of prominence in the music of the church, the First English Lutheran Pipe Organ has recently returned to service after six years in storage. The organ was removed from the Arts Street church prior to the congregation's move to Metairie, and it underwent extensive restoration as the congregation worshiped in the temporary chapel while awaiting the completion of the new church. The console, made by the firm of Goulding and Wood, has keyboards fashioned of Rosewood. The keyboards were built in England. |
